#DDA25 – Disability Discrimination Act (1995) 25 years on

We Shall Not Be Removed offers thanks and deep respect to our deaf, disabled and neurodiverse colleagues in the Disability Rights Movement who fought for our civil rights 25 years ago.

The Disability Discrimination Act of 1995 did not deliver everything that we all wanted, but it was the first legislation that recognised disabled people’s rights to an equality of goods and services and it was hard won.
