General Involvement/Coffee Tables!
This year, we’re going to be hosting more frequent smaller members meetings, much like our Coffee Table event last November, and more meetings with our specific different working groups.
Conveners Group/Steering Group
The conveners or ‘steering’ group has previously consisted of the group of volunteers who set up the #WeShallNotBeRemoved movement in May last year. They meet monthly and discuss all aspects of business, funding, news in the disability world, manage the Seven Principles output and more. We really want to expand and diversify this group as well as include a wider variety of professions & freelancers, so if this sounds like your type of commitment, please email email@example.com
Join or set up a Working Group
These are smaller groups who have less frequent meetings about… well, whatever really! This is a good way to get involved if you’re interested in one specific issue, or want to know more/build your skills in a certain area. These aare entirely member generated and run, and We Shall Not Be Removed pays for and provides access support for all meetings (e.g. note-taker, BSL interpretation, Live Captioning). So if you don’t see a group you’re particualrly interested in below but you’d like to get one going, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
At the moment, our active working groups are listed below alongside the email addresses to get in touch with if you’re interested in finding out more:
- Artists of Colour Group – email email@example.com
- Campaigns Group – email firstname.lastname@example.org – needs a new convener!
- LGBTQIA+ Group – email email@example.com
- Screen Industry Group – email firstname.lastname@example.org
- Access Group – email email@example.com
Join the Slack space
Slack is not the most accessible forum for engagement and it is therefore not one of our main outlet channels. We do still have a Slack space which functions as a sort of general members area. It is not one of our key means of communication or dissemination, but there is an active ‘Announcements’ channels where disabled creatives share general arts info & opportunities.
Please get in touch with any of our sign-up contacts below, and they will invite you to join our online Slack channel.
If you are having any difficulties with the sign-up process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try to help as best we can.
