We want to thank everyone who has been involved with the UK Disability Arts Alliance and the  #WeShallNotBeRemoved campaign. Through coming together in May 2020 our 700+ supporters have achieved so much and you can read all about the campaign’s outcomes in our E-Zine which is published here.

Our aim was to provide a voice for creative disabled people during the pandemic and to fight for an inclusive recovery. Whilst there is much still to achieve, #WeShallNotBeRemoved is turning the dial down and pausing, giving way to established disabled led and inclusive arts organisations to step up and make the case as we begin to move out of the pandemic.

We have been blown away by the resilience and talent of disabled artists and creatives during this terrible time when our lives have been placed at so much risk. And we are enormously grateful for the generosity and collaboration of our allies, particularly the practical support of Arts Council England and the Arts Council of Wales.

We will continue to speak out on social media about new barriers that emerge to prevent equitable cultural participation by disabled people and will maintain our existing supporters hub on Slack. And should the need arise, we will reconstitute and revive our alliance.

But meantime, thank YOU for your energy and engagement, your involvement and contribution, and for adding your voice to our campaign.
